Stage Management Workshop

Learn the art of keeping a production running from first rehearsal to final curtain.
Whether you're an aspiring stage manager, looking to expand your theatre skills, or ready to take on a leadership role backstage, this workshop provides practical, hands-on training led by experienced theatre professionals.
The workshop will be taught by Susan Fenrich and Evan Tansey, who will share their knowledge and real-world experience guiding productions from the rehearsal room to the stage.
Participants will attend four Sunday classroom sessions covering every phase of the stage management process—from pre-production planning and rehearsal organization to calling cues during live performances. The workshop concludes with a hands-on shadowing experience, where participants will observe both a rehearsal and a live performance to see stage management in action.
Workshop Details
Cost: $150 per participant
Classroom Sessions: Four Sundays, October 4, 11, 18, 25, 2026 from 4:00–6:00 PM
Final Experience: One rehearsal observation and one performance shadowing experience (scheduled separately)

Hands-On Experience
Shadow a Working Stage Manager
After the classroom sessions, participants will complete the workshop by observing a live rehearsal and shadowing a stage manager during a performance. This behind-the-scenes experience offers a firsthand look at how the concepts learned in class come together in a real production.
